Carol Ginandes grew up in New York City but spent summers in rural environments that inspired her passion for nature. She began painting and drawing as a child. Then through a fellowship award to Yale Summer School of Art, she was introduced to documentary and portrait photography by Walter Rosenblum. She subsequently studied with Minor White at MIT while doing undergraduate work at Harvard University. A Fulbright grant award enabled her to spend a year photographing in Latin America. Another body of work, a book of portraits (Of Women Born), was published in a limited fine art edition. Her work has been exhibited in museums and galleries and acquired by numerous private and corporate collections. In her other hat, she is a well- known health psychologist who has authored a variety of audio programs for mind/body healing.
On display here are some images from her Outer Cape, New England, Western, South American and Infinity Portfolios as well as selected portraits.
